I love to watch this performance just because they made a mistake. How they handle it shows how pro they’ve become as a band during the last years.
this is by far my favorite MSute performance by them. Just cause of the mistake and recovery. I wonder what happened that caused Ryo to fall off tempo. Regardless, Ohkura pulled out of that like a champ.
I don’t have this!!! Please tell me what performance it is.
Music Station, Tsubusa ni Koi. Probably one of the August shows.
I my gosh!!! The whole fucking song was shit!!! And it all started with Subaru’s intro!! I really don’t know why he needs to practically scream the lyrics and why the heck he feels the need to do that ‘rock thing’ in a ballad is beyond me. At least I know they were really performing here. Makes me wonder what effects they use for other live performances that make them sound so awesome. Word of advice boys, stop fucking smoking’ it’ll help you a great deal!! TBH, I didn’t cringe as much with the Ryo and Tacchon thing. I was more concerned about how off-key the whole song was. :(
If I was not wrong, they were asked in an interview: what do you think when you are singing?
Subaru answered he wouldn’t think anything, just sing out loud. Ryo said ‘as long as his tongue didn’t slip’. Okura said he kept thinking how to sing in a proper technique. Yasu was afraid the audience could not feel the song. More positive than Yasu, Maru said he kept trying to feel the emotion and show it to the audience so they could feel it too.
So, maybe that’s the reason why Subaru has been losing control while singing because… he just shouts…Subaru has a really powerful voice. He reminds me of Matthew Bellamy of Muse, before the Resistence Album(he’s voice became better in this album) . But the fact that he said he just shouts, doesn’t surprise me. They’ve put too much faith in him as the lead singer, so I think that perhaps he feels that being loud is more important that sounding good. In terms of technique, Tacchon has the best voice. I’ve heard him go off maybe 3 times, But his technique is good. Ryo on the other had needs to fix his neck posture when singing. I watched the Scarecrow ‘making of’ and cringed from how shit he sounded. He even thought that he would sound better if he sat down, However, the problem was when he strained his neck to reach the top notes and instead of trying to go into falsseto (which he is really good at, listen to his solo in Negai) he belts the top notes. Which he could have done perfectly if he didn’t strain his neck upwards. So there were many tweaks done to that song in the recording studio :( Jeez, you’d think with all their training over the years, Johnny’s would get someone in to actually teach them singing techniques.
Yeah, Ryo… I feel like he is singing with his throat burnt
Something I notice from ExE concert is how Ohkura, Maru, and Yasu’s voices are improved. Well, I only hope they could read this post… by accidentagreed with Tacchon has the best voice control. It can be seen in most of his solo parts. I watched this perf then watched the SCP perf with Nagase which was better than MS. Nagase does better than Subaru. It’s kind of disappointing actually :/ No worries guys. Subaru definitely will read this. Just tag your post with Shibutani Subaru.
